Charting the Future of Fisherman’s Wharf

A Historic Opportunity That Could be Lost Forever
There are currently plans being floated for structural infill and large buildings in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf – through an exclusive negotiation agreement that the Port has granted a developer – that would forever block spectacular view corridors of the bay, while directly competing with existing businesses that are part of the fabric of the Wharf for many decades. In contrast, our visionary blueprint for San Francisco’s iconic and historic waterfront is a forward-looking plan that fully honors and embraces the Wharf’s deep maritime and fishing heritage while unlocking its full potential as a dynamic civic destination. By enhancing open space, strengthening view corridors, supporting local businesses and property owners, and introducing flexible public realms designed for year-round activations, entertainment, and cultural programming, the plan balances authenticity with energy. The result is a reimagined waterfront that celebrates San Francisco’s historic fishing fleet while creating vibrant public gathering places for and activities for residents and visitors alike.
